Feed My Starving Children: How you can help

11 Aug

Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor. Proverbs 22:9

That Bible verse is one of the rallying cries of Feed My Starving Children, a nonprofit organization founded in 1987 in Minnesota.

Last night, Sister Joan was invited to join a crew of friends and family in volunteering to pack food for Feed My Starving Children.  In just over an hour, the 60 or so volunteers managed to pack enough MannaPack Rice to feed 47 children for 1 year!

Although the meals we packed yesterday may be heading elsewhere in the world, Feed My Starving Children has set up special packing sessions for the famine and drought in the Horn of Africa.  In the past 90 days, an estimated 29,000 children have starved to death as a result of this crisis.  If you are interested in volunteering to pack food for Africa at those special sessions, you can sign up online.
